High School/College Retreats

Warrambui’s tranquil atmosphere and flexible facilities make it the perfect venue for schools to run their retreat, camp or conference programs.

Meeting/Conference areas

We have several meeting spaces available, including a large conference room for up to 180 people which can be divided into two smaller rooms; an 11-metre diameter sunken floor meeting space perfect for meetings, music and drama rehearsals; and other smaller rooms that can be configured as meeting spaces if required. Of course, we also have 120 hectares of rolling hills, natural bushland, pine forest, outdoor meeting areas, and sport facilities that can be used for natural inspiration, sport activities, group activities and reflection.

With two different accommodation styles to choose from, full catering of delicious and nutritious meals, and optional evening activities or supervised programs to break up your program, your school can be confident your stay will be a success.

Convenient and beautiful location

Just 40 minutes north from the centre of Canberra, Warrambui is the perfect destination for ACT schools and NSW regional schools to meet and retreat. We are far enough away from Canberra so students can focus on reflecting, planning, rehearsing and learning, but close enough to keep travel times and costs minimal.

Accommodation

We offer two distinct accommodation options that are school-friendly, helping both students and teachers get a good night’s rest.

The Dome is our unique circular building with dorm-style accommodation, where all rooms are accessed from a central space. The Dome sleeps a total of 90 people and has its own kitchenette and dining room, and meeting space, providing a one-stop shop for all your indoor activities. There is special teacher accommodation located in the Cube adjacent to the dome, with an additional 11 beds available in en-suited rooms it provides a place for both supervision and retreat. The Cube also contains a disable access bathroom.

The Village Conference Centre, has 22 en-suited units sleeping 2-6 people each for a total of 116. The rooms are divided into 3 blocks, with each block having a lounge including a kitchenette area, on the end. The Village also has a large conference room, which can be divided into two rooms. It also contains a dining room and tea and coffee area.

All facilities have reverse cycle air-conditioning. Larger groups are able to book our entire site & utilise both the Dome and Village.

Catering

Our Head of Catering Benedict and his team create hearty, nutritious and delicious meals and snacks to keep you fuelled for your entire stay. A rotating menu ensures variety and we cater to special dietary requirements teachers or students may have.

Fully flexible programs and activities

We can run supervised day or night programs to give teachers a break, or to complement your conference or retreat program. A night by the campfire is a popular choice! Teachers are also welcome to run their own programs onsite using our facilities and equipment such as projectors, whiteboards, sports equipment and outdoor spaces.

Planning assistance

We can assist teachers by providing facility maps, risk assessment documentation and other documents they may need. Our role is to meet your needs, so we are happy to meet with teachers to discuss their needs and offer site tours as requested.
