School Groups Visiting Canberra

School Groups Visiting Canberra

We know how much there is to see and do in the nation’s capital or nearby snow fields. So at Warrambui, we make sure your school group sets off refreshed and refueled, armed with packed lunches and snacks for a big day of Canberra discovery. We welcome you home each evening with a hearty meal, tranquil surrounds, and a comfy bed.

Convenient and Beautiful Location

We are Situated 40 minutes north of the centre of Canberra and closer to North Canberra attractions such as the AIS and Cockington Green. We’re perfectly located for those travelling in via the Barton Highway to greet you on your way in to Canberra, and give you a head start on your bus trip home. The trip into Canberra gives teachers the opportunity to brief students on the days activities, and the trip back provides the chance to wind down after a full day. Our tranquil and spacious environment is perfect for students to unwind or run of some steam away from the distractions in the city.

 Accommodation

We offer two distinct accommodation options that are school-friendly, helping both students and teachers get a good night’s rest.

The Dome is our unique circular building with dorm-style accommodation, where all rooms are accessed from a central space. The Dome sleeps a total of 90 people and has its own kitchenette and dining room, and meeting space, providing a one-stop shop for all your indoor activities. There is special teacher accommodation located in the Cube adjacent to the dome, with an additional 11 beds available in en-suited rooms it provides a place for both supervision and retreat. The Cube also contains a disable access bathroom.

The Village Conference Centre, has 22 en-suited units sleeping 2-6 people each for a total of 116. The rooms are divided into 3 blocks, with each block having a lounge including a kitchenette area, on the end. The Village also has a large conference room, which can be divided into two rooms. It also contains a dining room and tea and coffee area.

All facilities have reverse cycle air-conditioning. Larger groups are able to book our entire site & utilise both the Dome and Village.

Catering

Our Head of Catering Benedict and his team create hearty, nutritious and delicious meals and provides packed lunches and snacks to keep you fueled for your entire stay. A rotation menu ensures variety and we cater to an special dietary requirements teachers or students may have.

Fully flexible programs and activities

If your students aren’t completely worn out from their day in the capital, Warrambui’s friendly staff can also run supervised night programs and activities, such as campfires and night bush-walks. These programs are optional but very popular, giving teachers and chaperones the chance to relax or regroup in their private rooms and lounges. Teachers stay free at a ratio of 1:10 students, and coach drivers are also well taken care of—they stay free!

We have been going to Warrambui for approximately 10 years. I think that says it all. When I/we drive into the grounds I think “Ah, I’m home!” Thanks for taking such wonderful care of the Franklins girls.Bernadette, Franklins
